The year 2019 has been quite a change for smartphones. Last year, while 4G networks and 4G LTE-supporting smartphones had entered the market, this year this feature has also come in cheaper smartphones. Along with cheap 4G phones, 5G support smartphones have also knocked this year. However, these 5G smartphones have come in the flagship segment only, which cost more. But now cheap smartphones with 5G support are also going to be sold in the market.

 

Qualcomm, the leading mobile chipset maker, introduced its new chipset on the international platform yesterday. A new chipset of Snapdragon 700 series has been officially made by the company, which supports 5G baseband. With the announcement of this new chipset, Qualcomm has officially stated that the company is going to bring low range chipsets which will be 5G supported.

 

These chipsets equipped with 5G connectivity and support will be included in Qualcomm’s Snapdragon 700 and Snapdragon 600 series. It is worth noting that currently, the Qualcomm Snapdragon 800 series Snapdragon 855+ chipset supports 5G which is present in high-end devices. But the 5G supported chipsets coming in the Snapdragon 700 and 600 series will be made for the Mid-range devices and smartphones.

These 12 brands will bring cheaper 5G phones

Obviously, if 5G phones are made at a lower cost, then more and more users will want to use this latest technology. In such a situation, smartphone brands and companies are also not going to back off. The report has revealed that 12 smartphone brands have partnered with Qualcomm for 5G support Snapdragon 700 and 600 Series chipsets.

 

These companies include Oppo, Samsung, Realme, Nokia, Redmi, Huwaei, Vivo, Motorola, HMD Global, and LG Electronics. These brands can enter the cheap 5G smartphone market starting from the beginning of the year 2020.

 

Qualcomm, however, has not yet revealed the names of the chipsets of the Snapdragon 700 and Snapdragon 600 series, which are equipped with 5G technology. But Qualcomm says that these upcoming chipsets will be system-on-chip integrated chipsets equipped with 5G functions that will be able to work on almost all major regions and major frequencies.

 

According to the company, Snapdragon 700 Series 5G chipsets will process on 7-nanometer technology and will work with the Next Generation AI (Artificial Intelligence) Engine. Qualcomm says that these Snapdragon chipsets will be equipped with elite gaming features.
